If you’re running a gym, chances are you offer classes as well as having a whole range of equipment available for people to use for their individual workouts. In many cases, classes will involve timed workouts, whether that’s moving between stations on a circuit, or aiming to hit as many reps as possible within a given timeframe.
For gym instructors, it can be hard to keep an eye on everyone in the class to make sure their technique is right while also trying to watch the clock.
With an LED countdown clock, you’ll make everyone’s lives easier. These can be set up to show the current time, or to count down for specified periods of time.
So, if you’re running a circuit class with one minute per station, you can set the clock to count down 60 seconds and even sound an alarm so that everyone knows when to stop and rest. As an instructor, it will save you having to shout, not to mention mean that you can focus on your clients rather than worrying about watching the clock.
High intensity interval training (HIIT) is becoming increasingly popular, with the Harvard Sentinel recently highlighting just how much research there is to support its claims of effectively improving cardiovascular endurance and strength.
The publication also pointed to a new study that has found HIIT could even help people manage type II diabetes, with this kind of training helping improve beta cell production in adults with the condition. This is important, because beta cells produce, store and release insulin and better management of this could help people living with type II diabetes control their insulin levels.
