Spurs Using LED Panels In New Stadium

Posted by Fay Bromilow on

The development of Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium is well underway and more details about its design are starting to emerge.

According to The Sun, one of its stand-out features will be a huge LED display. The newspaper noted that the football club’s replacement for White Hart Lane will be illuminated at night - in similar fashion to Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.

The outside of the stadium has been clad in glass panels, 170 of which feature LED luminaires - or white strip lights - that will light up on match nights. In artist’s impressions of the new stadium, it looks impressive.

LED displays aren’t only being utilised on the exterior of the new stadium though, with LED sports lights also expected to be installed on the roof to act as floodlighting.

Other businesses searching for innovative ways to make use of external LED displays may want to see how the finished stadium looks when construction is completed - the football club is confident that they will be able to play matches there in the 2018-19 season.

More and more architects are incorporating LED displays into buildings, it seems, with a recent report from Coherent Market Insights noting that demand for smart and intelligent display systems is boosting the outdoor LED display market.

Video walls, advertising boards, stadium screens and perimeter boards are increasingly being sought after in LED format, because of their energy efficiency and long lifetime. Technology is evolving to accommodate this, meaning there are more opportunities than ever before to make use of LED displays at your business.
