New Internal LED Displays Introduced To Crown Coliseum

Posted by Fay Bromilow on

Most people will be aware of how important technology is to almost every sport. If you have ever been in a stadium to watch a sport - from basketball to ice hockey - you will find that internal LED displays are useful when it comes to showcasing the action live and providing instant replays and real-time information.

According to Digital Signage Connection, Daktronics has designed and installed a new centre-hung video and ribbon displays in the Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

You will now see four displays, which measure 9ft by 16.5ft, on the centre-hung in the arena, which can show one large image or be divided into small screens showing different content, ranging from instant replays and live video to statistics and sponsorship messages.

Jim Grafstrom, the general manager at Crown Complex, commented: “We are beyond excited to provide our patrons with a boosted event-day experience through state-of-the-art technology. These enhancements will quickly become the focal point of the venue and will benefit all users, from our tenant sports teams to conferences, concerts and exposition-style functions.”

If you are in the stadium, you will be able to see how the new technology changes the experience. Most people will no doubt be able to tell you how different it is to watch a sport live than on TV, meaning that improved displays presenting information and highlights only adds to the experience in the arena. Centre-hung is not uncommon in many stadiums across the US, though this addition would benefit both home supporters and those travelling to watch a match.
