The outdoor LED display market is continuing to show strong growth, according to the latest report from Coherent Market Insights.
A range of different LED display options, including perimeter displays, video walls, advertising boards and stadium screens is helping to boost uptake of the technology. Worldwide, the sector is predicted to see compound annual growth rates of 9.56 per cent between 2017 and 2025.
However, it is the full-colour LED displays that are expected to lead the way in the coming years, with the organisation noting that a host of industries are keen to take advantage of this technology, from FMCG, food and beverage companies to textile and entertainment ventures.
Although full-colour screens are predicted to be one of the biggest sellers, tri-colour and monochrome LED displays are expected to remain popular and see growth in the areas of digital signage and scoreboards.
Digital Journal recently highlighted another LED display that’s growing in popularity, particularly in the retail and leisure sectors - transparent LED displays.
The main reason why these installations are so popular is because of the quality of the transparent LED screens, which boast high definition without losing their transparency, the news provider noted.
However, despite their rising popularity, they will need to go some way to catch up with the leading LED outdoor display category - LED billboards. According to the Coherent Market Insights research, these particular displays do so well because they are cost effective, highly visible and allow for dynamic content to be shared with passersby.
