Are you Using LEDs In Your Festive Displays?

Posted by Fay Bromilow on

We’re now well into December and if you haven’t already got festive displays up at your business, you really should do. You still have time though - and if you own a shop that relies on passing trade, it’s well worth the effort.

Of course, with so much going on in the festive season and decorations seemingly everywhere, you need to find a way to stand out. Using LED window displays can help you communicate your offerings, or even shout about special deals that you’re running in the lead up to Christmas.

There are some great creative uses of LEDs at this time of the year - with one example coming from the Hull Daily Mail recently.

Andrew Wilkinson, who lives in Hayton, East Yorkshire, spent months making a tractor out of more than 11,000 LED lights outside his home in honour of his father. The newspaper explained that he’s made the impressive display to raise money for charity in memory of his dad, who passed away 11 years ago.

He’s raising money for Cancer Research UK, and last year his bright display brought in an incredible £3,200.

While Andrew’s efforts are clearly a labour of love, they show what you can achieve with a bit of creativity and some dazzling LEDs. Of course, if you’re going to put up any external LED displays you need to think about a few practicalities, such as temperature variation throughout the year, humidity levels and the weather in general.

Businesses will also need to think about the positioning of any such displays to ensure they have the maximum impact without obstructing walkways or other access.
